Objective. To test the given sample of urine for the presence of urea, sugar, albumin and bile salts.

REQUIREMENTS

Urine sample, test tubes, test tube stand, spirit lamp, sodium hypobromide, sodium hydroxide, acetic acid,urease, Benedict's solution, Fehling's solution-A, Fehling's solution-B, Robert's solution, sulphosalicylic acid, Smith's reagent etc.

Procedure and observation 

Perform the tests for urea sugar albumin and bile salt in the urine as given in the table below and observe 

Precaution 

1.wash the test tubes thoroughly before use. 

2.use standard reagents.
