objective - To determine imbibition in seed \ raisins ,

Requirement - Dry seed raisins , petridish , water .

Procedure - Take a petridish  with water . Put a few dry gram seed or raisin in it. Leave the dish for 5-6 hours ,

Observation - The dry seed swell up due to adsorption of water.

Conclusion- The dry seed contain hydrophillic collids . which have strong affinity for water. Therefore the seed absorb water and swell up.This demonstration is imbibition.

Precaution - The seed should be dry.
